sir,

I have the honour to inform you that I have

carefully considered the question of compensating the parents

of the late Constable R. Miller, which was referred to me in

your despatch No.273 of the 17th October last, and I have

decided that as an act of grace a sum of £50 should be paid to the father of the deceased. I should be glad if the Crown Agents for the Colonies could be instructed accordingly.

2.

The pistols of the Police are examined monthly and no defect was found on the last inspection of the pistol

in question prior to the accident.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

Amag

Governor,&c.
